FAQ

"Answers to your frequently asked questions..."
How much is shipping?

Shipping to all countries in the UK and EU is absolutely free. Shipping to the rest of the world requires quotation. My goal is to offer free international shipping for anyone anywhere - so I am currently working hard on finding suppliers for the US, South America, Canada and Asia-Pacific markets.

How long is shipping?

Shipping time is defined as the amount of time between placing your order and receiving it.

UK:

Prints (unframed) = 5-8 working days.
Prints (framed), canvases and combination orders = 7-10 working days.

EU:

Prints (unframed) = 9-12 working days.
Prints (framed), canvases and combination orders = 8-15 working days.

International:

Quotation required. Please email tessellationart@gmail.com

How is my artwork protected during shipping?

For framed prints and canvases, we use bespoke double-walled boxes so that artwork arrives in an undamaged condition wherever it is shipped in the world. Unframed prints are rolled and shipped in a tube. Using the right packaging for the right product also ensures optimisation for transport, resulting in excellent and cost effective shipping rates.

What happens if my artwork is damaged on arrival?

On those rare occasions when incidents do happen, I will ensure that your collection and replacement are organised immediately and shipped back out on a priority service free of charge.

Your prints are all giclees. What is a 'giclee' print?

The word 'giclee' is French for sprayed ink. Today, the term is used to describe a sophisticated inkjet printmaking process which creates the highest quality fine art reproductions.

Giclee printing offers extra-fine image resolution, helping retain a higher degree of detail from the original fine art or photographic images.

What is 'gsm'?

GSM stands for grams per square metre. It is a measure of the weight of paper or canvas.

What paper is used for your prints?

240 gsm smooth art paper. A high-quality, smooth matt paper with a light, fine-grain surface texture. Image reproduction is sharp, crisp and vibrant, with great density and vivid colours.

The paper is specifically profiled to ensuring highly accurate and consistent reproductions.

What are the actual dimensions of the art?

All of the dimensions in the product descriptions refer to the outer edges of the print, canvas or frame.

Framed prints:

50 x 50 cm frames come ready to hang with a 30 x 30 cm print.

70 x 70 cm frames come ready to hang with a 50 x 50 cm print.

90 x 90 cm frames come ready to hang with a 70 x 70 cm print.

Canvases:

30 x 30 cm canvases are 2 cm thick.

50 x 50 cm canvases are 4 cm thick.

70 x 70 cm canvases are 4 cm thick.

Thickness is the distance that the canvas stands out from the wall.

How do I hang my art?

All of my framed and stretched artwork comes fully strung and ready to hang. This means that the only thing you have to do is to tap in the nail.
